About

Dr J. Eduardo has a PhD in Economic Geography (2019) from the London School of Economics, holds an MSc in Local Economic Development from the same University and a BSc in Economics (2011) from Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE). In 2019, after completing his doctoral studies, he won the EPAINOS Young Scientist Prize for best paper, awarded by the European Regional Science Association. In 2020, he joined the Henley Business School, at the University of Reading, as an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in International Business and Strategy.

His main research interests lie at the intersection between Economic Geography and International Business. In particular, on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), local labour markets, informality, inequalities, educational choices, human capital development and internationalisation strategies. His research focuses on emerging economies, in particular, Latin America and Southeast Asia. He has also been involved in research on FDI policy, systems of innovation, and international remittances.

He has journal publications in peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of International Business Policy, Papers in Regional Science, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Economics of Education Review, Science and Public Policy, International Migration Review, The World Economy, and El Trimestre Económico.

He has taught courses on several topics in Economics, International Business and Quantitative Research Methods, and he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK).
